History of Candelaria

Candelaria Street was named before “Kalye Pook”   and in that time there  is no specific name in every street.

When Barangay Ichon celebrate a  yearly Fiesta there was a request that in every street must have their specific names and specific date to celebrate their fiesta. And, the people of Kalye Pook choose the day of Birhen sa Candelaria February 2. Since that day Kalye Pook was never been used and they start to call the Kalye Pook to “Candelaria Street” until now.
